Hi, I’m Anjie!

my journey to coaching

Twenty-four years ago, after finishing secondary school, I left my home, a little island in the Caribbean, on an academic scholarship to study in New York. This move marked not only an opportunity to expand my educational achievements, but it also meant a way out of poverty for my family. Had I not received a scholarship, my path would have been much more limited as my parents were not able to finance tertiary education for all six of their children.
Moving to New York was an experience! Juggling three jobs, plus keeping a full-time status as a student was incredible! Those years taught me so much about my potential. After graduating with a B.A. in English from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY, the next step in my journey was law school. So, I studied for the Law School entrance exam, sat the test, applied for law school, but I couldn’t escape that nagging feeling that this wasn’t the road I wanted to take. Then one day, I summoned all the courage I had, picked up the phone, and called my dad who was back home.

from teaching to coaching

Teaching in the middle east was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding job. To say that “there is never a dull moment” is quite clichéd, but so apt! Every day brought its own triumphs and failures, and the relationships that I have formed with my students are simply priceless. Furthermore, being surrounded by young adults made me appreciate the gift of never taking myself too seriously and secretly, it gave me the permission to forever be a kid at heart!

After eleven years of living in the middle east, in 2018, my family and I, including the three 4-legged members, packed up our house and moved from Dubai to Ireland. This new chapter of my life opened the door to path in life and career coaching.

my revelation

The decision to ‘follow my heart’ stemmed not from looking outwards at all the tags associated with being a lawyer, but from looking inwards – exploring and examining my values, beliefs, and essentially, knowing who I am and what I wanted in life.
I have now entered into a new chapter of my life – helping people become ‘unstuck’ and flourish. I have built my coaching practice on an enriched work experience, strong academic background, and a passion for bringing the best out of people. I am a results-driven professional, dedicated to ensuring client satisfaction and committed to delivering above and beyond the scope of work.
The wealth of experiences I have gained over the years cannot be quantified with a monetary value. I would not change anything about that decision I made all those years ago, and like Robert Frost, I too can say:
